It has been reported that Wisconsin is quickly growing into the state with the fourth largest Amish population. A fact many Juneau County locals wouldn't  in the least find surprising. 


Whether you're driving down one of the many country roads through the rolling hills or you stop by any one of the many local farmer's markets or festivals, you will sure to see what we all know, the Amish community is just one segment of the population to call Juneau County home. 



While many Amish families can be found throughout Juneau County most call the western and southwestern part of the county home in communities near Elroy, Wonewoc, and Union Center. 


Often confused for Amish are the Old German Baptist Brethren and Mennonites , two cultures who also live and work within  Juneau County communities. All three share a common history and roots, and all three call the rolling hills and valleys of Juneau County home. 


 You can find the fruits of their labor for sale at various shops, festivals and outside markets. Known for their cheese making, wood crafts and furniture, along with their quilts - each item represents a living history.
